Kelora Garment Care Guide

Each Kelora piece is made with care. Following the right care instructions helps preserve colour, shape, texture, and finish.

Ankara and printed cotton pieces

  • Hand wash separately in cold water using a mild detergent.
  • Turn garments inside out before washing.
  • Do not soak for long periods or use bleach.
  • Hang or lay flat to dry away from direct sunlight.
  • Iron on a low to medium setting, preferably on the reverse side.

Adire pieces

  • Hand wash separately in cold water.
  • Use a mild detergent and avoid bleach or harsh chemicals.
  • Do not soak, wring aggressively, or tumble dry.
  • Dry in shade to help preserve the dye and colour.
  • Iron on the reverse side using low to medium heat.

As Adire is artfully dyed, slight variations in colour and pattern are part of its character.

Aso Oke pieces

Aso Oke is a handwoven fabric and should be handled gently to protect its texture and structure.

  • Dry clean is recommended, especially for embellished or structured pieces.
  • If hand-washing is necessary, wash gently in cold water with mild detergent.
  • Do not bleach, soak for long periods, machine wash, or tumble dry.
  • Do not twist or wring the fabric; press out excess water gently.
  • Dry flat or hang in shade, away from direct sunlight.
  • Iron inside out on low to medium heat, using a pressing cloth between the iron and fabric.
  • Store folded in a cool, dry place. Avoid hanging heavy Aso Oke pieces for long periods, as this may affect their shape.
  • Keep away from rough surfaces, jewellery, and Velcro that may pull the woven threads.

Due to its handwoven nature, slight variations in texture, colour, and weave are part of the beauty and uniqueness of Aso Oke.

Organza, lace, embellished, and occasion pieces

  • Dry clean is recommended.
  • Do not machine wash, tumble dry, or wring.
  • Store on a padded hanger or folded carefully to avoid snagging.
  • Steam gently or use low heat with a pressing cloth.
  • Avoid contact with jewellery or rough surfaces that may catch delicate fabric.

General care
